How You can Help!
The Goodwill Help Card
The HELP Card was developed to replace our clothing vouchers handed out by different agencies and to give the business and corporate companies a one stop coordinated method to help meet the needs of our community.
Last year 600 families used our cards and the requests this year are nearing 2000. Goodwill produces hundreds of numbered plastic cards and deliver s them to those agencies who cannot meet their clients needs without additional help. Depending on our limited resources we will continue to provide these cards as the funds are generated.
Many of the needy families come directly to Goodwill for help. Our name brand and universal Goodwill logo attract hundreds of people needing assistance.
Individuals in need can use the card for the purchase of clothing, different household items, and services that Goodwill provides; such as computer training and on the job retail training at various locations throughout SE Texas and SW Louisiana. We coordinate our services with the agencies that receive cards from us and have extend our search to develop resources to match the needs of the community.
The card is designed to allow for sponsorships from outside sources . Our Board of Directors has begun to develop relationships that have given Goodwill a good start. We have received a generous amount from our donors that will help 200 new people for multiple years. We need an additional 1800 cards. Please consider funding some of these families. Also, we encourage you to consider placing your logo on the card.
You may also pick which agency receives the cards you purchase. If no agency is designated they will go to any agency with clients in need.

Becoming a HELP Card sponsor:
GIVES BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY - Each $25 card can put clothing, job training, and hope directly into a family's hand.
PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES IN NEED-Goodwill and other agencies receiving these cards will talk with family members in order to assess their needs and provide them with immediate relief. In most cases longer term family strengthening techniques are provided. Food pantries , family counseling, vocational training.
PROMOTES INTERAGENCY COOPERATION- Donation of $25 or more for a HELP card can meet the needs of many and opens a door to a vast resource of different agencies working together here in our own community.
